  • Damascus Governorate has announced the completion of the technical study for the Al-Mujtahid and Bab Musalla tunnel project, the largest infrastructure project in the capital. Recognized as the longest tunnel in Syria with a total length of 1,900 meters, it features four traffic lanes and two main branches. The first branch extends from the Al-Fahama intersection to the Sayyida Zeinab garages (1,450m), while the second starts at Bab Musalla towards the Daraa and Suwaida garages. The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and modernize 50-year-old infrastructure networks (water, electricity, and telecommunications).
