Syria Signs $30M Strategic Partnership with Azerbaijan and ICESCO to Support Education Sector

  • The Syrian Ministry of Education has signed a trilateral strategic partnership agreement with the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO).
  • Under this agreement, which remains valid until December 31, 2030, a major project with a budget of $30 million USD will be implemented, fully funded by the Republic of Azerbaijan. The project aims to rehabilitate 100 damaged schools across various Syrian governorates and construct 10 entirely new schools according to modern international standards.
  • The project will be executed in direct coordination with ICESCO and represents a significant step in the path of rebuilding Syria's educational infrastructure and providing a safe learning environment for students.
